Sample transit wheel

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way…”

A Tale of Two Cities- Charles Dickens

These words are still as relevant today as they were when Charles Dickens wrote them back in 1859. I was thinking about this quote today, and began wondering what were the best and worst times in my own life, and what transits were happening at the time.

I must admit, I didn’t really start looking at transit charts until a few years ago, but it’s amazing how you can pinpoint a particular time in your life that was either sheer bliss or living hell and by looking at the transits at that time, you can come up with some brilliant “lightbulb” moments. So if you are a bit of an astro-fiend like me, and you want to gain some clarity about different turning points in your life, check out astro.com (you can get there by clicking on the name in the sidebar). Using the natal chart selection, just type in a date as if you were doing a chart for a real person, and the exact degrees will come up, giving you an accurate look at exactly where the planets were. You could do it for the day you met your current partner, your wedding day or a time when you lost someone close to you, or it can be less specific than that if you want.

To start the ball rolling he’s mine:

It was the best of times: 2006

Transit: Jupiter in Scorpio going over my stellium of planets in Scorpio in the 6th house.

I had more money in the bank than I’ve ever had before or since, and as a result, was able to live in England for three months, which has always been a long-held dream of mine.

It was the worst of times: 2000-2003.

Transit: Pluto in Sagittarius conjunct my Sun in Sagittarius in the 7th house. Two words. Open enemies.
