Flaming June – Lord Fredrick Leighton
Currently Neptune is sitting at the tail-end of Aquarius where it has been for months now. It officially enters Pisces on the 4th February 2012.
When one of the outer planets changes sign, the changes are usually gradual but far-reaching. And with Neptune leaving spacey Aquarius for the more nebulous Pisces, the shift will go from science and technology to more spiritual pursuits. When Neptune entered Aquarius back in 1997, it was really the beginning of the World Wide Web as we know it. Neptune is about bringing people together on a global level, and that happened, appropriately enough through the use of technology. We may take these things for granted now, but when you think how many things have been invented or became widely used during that time- mobile phones, ipads, ipods, digital cameras, skype, facebook, twitter- and now suddenly, the world seems much smaller than it used to be, and we are eventually coming to the conclusion that despite the fact that we may have different skin colours, political and religious views or different opinions to other people, we are all basically the same.
But now Neptune in Pisces will take that concept one step further. As we have seen in recent years with Hurricane Katrina, the devastating earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand and widespread flooding in parts of Australia, we realise that for better or worse, we are all in this together. As times get tougher economically and environmentally, we are all going to have to learn to be more compassionate towards each other and to those who are worse off than we are, or who have had their lives thrown into upheaval through circumstances that are not their fault.
Who knows, maybe the powers that be will finally realise what a colossal waste of money and lives wars are and cease to send innocent young men and women in the prime of their lives to their deaths. Well, we can only dream.
And speaking of dreams, between now and February, we need to be thinking about our own dreams and what we can do with this Neptune in Pisces transit to change our lives. Neptune will be in Pisces until March 2025, so by that time, we should definitely see some (hopefully) positive changes to the way we all relate to each other.
So, in our personal chart, we look at the house where Neptune will be transiting, which is the house where Pisces is located. If you know that you have Pisces in your 9th house, then long-term dreams regarding travel, relocating, higher education, publishing or spirituality may occupy you at this time.
If you have Pisces or Neptune in the 2nd, then you may come up with unusual, but brilliant ways for making money during this transit, or you may find that your values undergo a complete overhaul.
The negative side of this transit is an overwhelming desire to escape boring or harsh reality through drugs, excessive drinking, daydreaming and other forms of escapism. Also, this is not the time to drift into a relationship where either you or your partner play the victim or saviour, where you allow yourself to be treated like a doormat or where you get involved with someone because you feel sorry for them. This is especially true if you have Neptune in the 5th, 7th or 8th house natally.
The more positive themes associated with a Neptune transit include: deeper and more meaningful relationships with those who are important to us, being of service to those in genuine need, amazing insights that seem to come from nowhere, soul connections with a significant other and the ability to turn our dreams into reality.
So, where is Neptune transiting in your chart, and how are you going to make your dreams a reality in the coming years?
